ReWilding; A fresh and wild new journey.
Happy New year Wild Woman!
2017 was a huge and mammoth year for me. I not only birthed my second baby and came home from a year of traveling. I also completely re-branded and restructured my business and launched a new website and 2 planners, and continued co-facilitating Goddess Gatherings with Erin… and I’ve had some massive breakthroughs and new ventures right up to the new year (that I will be launching very soon).

During this huge but necessary shift, I have been able to really focus and become more clear on the things that really set my soul on fire! The things that I feel so excited to bring to you, or share with you. I have grown a lot, and I have also had to dive deep into my shadow side to peel back the layers and release what no longer serves me. I have lent into discomfort and begged for guidance when I felt lost and confused ready to give up- only to be met with huge awakenings and messages about where my lightwork is leading me. I have allowed a lot to be released and pruned back so that the new growth in the form of ideas, inspiration and new offerings can be nurtured and tended to. This honestly feels like a breath of fresh air! Shedding the old and tending to the new sprouts of growth as I honour my own next phase of womanhood is so incredibly invigorating. And this is definitely coming through in my work.
I have decided to phase out the use of ‘Nourished Collective.’
I will be using my own name!
As a mentor for women, I will continue to celebrate womanhood, support life in flow, and honour every phase… but with a foundational focus on Rewilding.
Nourishment still resonates very deeply with me both personally, and in my work. I will continue to preach various levels of self-care and deep self nourishment as a foundation of my offerings. Ensuring that women nourish themselves fully to refill their cups so that they continue giving all that they do to others in their life will always, and continue to be close to my heart and voiced loudly. However, I feel so deeply called to dive even deeper with my business offerings, Just as I have lived myself in recent years. To go perhaps a step further than self-nourishment, beneath it even. To explore uncharted or abandoned territory. To unearth and heal wounds that have been hidden in the shadows for too long….
to embark on the journey of ReWilding.
“The antidote to exhaustion isnt rest. It’s nature”
ReWilding encompasses so many things for me- it is a feeling more than something I can succinctly put into words. Put simply it is about nourishing the soul as a whole (both the light and the shadow side). It allows you to restore and reclaim your own natural and wild way of living and being.
Rewilding began as an ecological necessity to return land to its natural and wild state. This not only includes the plants and agriculture native to that land, but also the animals and habitats that would have also depended on that land and on each other. There’s a domino effect that occurs when rewilding happens. It is about connecting deeply with the earth, and holding so strongly the belief that we are unable to survive let alone thrive without this connection to the earth, to one another and to our wild.
People began to realise that as cyclic beings of this earth, we too are just like the land; in need of rewilding. Just as the land holds much more potent power and sustainability for so much more life in it’s wild state, we as humans do as well. We just need to unlearn, remember and rewild ourselves.
“WE’VE BECOME STRANGERS TO NATURE AND THE BEST WAY TO LIVE LONGER, HEALTHIER LIVES IS TO RE-WILD OURSELVES BY RETURNING TO NATURE WHENEVER WE CAN.”
~DANIEL VITALIS FROM HUNGRY FOR CHANGE
Rewilding is a deep remembering. A bit like turning back the clock of who you were before anyone told you who you should be, and moving forward from there- but still taking with you and acknowledging all the lessons you have learnt. To truly know and believe that the strength and answers you seek are already within you. Building a sustainable confidence and resilience that is beyond domestication, external expectations or dependence.
“WE OFTEN FORGET THAT WE ARE NATURE.
NATURE IS NOT SOMETHING SEPARATE FROM US. SO WHEN WE SAY THAT WE HAVE LOST CONNECTION TO NATURE, WE HAVE LOST OUR CONNECTION TO OURSELVES.”
~ ANDY GOLDSWORTHY
So much of how we are today is interconnected with shame. This shame completely undermines self love, self esteem, and will affect all aspects of your life & being- birth, parenting, relationships, business/work, money, sex- everything! This shame then passes down through generations.
Brene Brown (an incredible researcher in the area of shame) says
“shame is associated with depression, grief, anxiety, eating disorders, addiction and violence… shame is is the intensely painful feeling or experience of believing we are flawed and therefore unworthy of acceptance and belonging. Women often experience shame when they are entangled in a web of layered, conflicting and competing social-community expectations. Shame creates feelings of fear, blame and disconnect.” (pg 29 “I thought it was just me (but it isn’t): Making the Journey from “what will people think?” to “I am enough”)
Expanding on this, Jane Hardwicke-Collings & Sharon Moloney suggest that for many women it is not just shame that underpins disconnection and both mental and physical health issues (among other things). It is specifically menstrual shame. And the pathologising of womanhood is proving to be disastrous.
In her blog, Jane says:
“I believe that what underpins many mental health disorders including eating disorders, is menstrual shame.” ~ Jane Hardwicke Collings
Susan Molony is quoted in the same blog as saying:
“Menstrual shame was identified as a core patriarchal organising principle that inculcates and perpetuates male dominance and female subordination. Engendering the perception of female physiology – and thus womanhood – as inherently flawed. Menstrual shame was a key factor that predisposed women to approach birth feeling fearful, disempowered and vulnerable to intervention.”
I have witness and experienced first hand how the dis-empowerment of women begins from very young. As a school counsellor I saw the shaming of young women begin and how it affected their self esteem and self value. I saw the lack of menstrual education, and shaming of sex education. As a doula I then absolutely saw how this then affected women as they became pregnant and mothers. How it absolutely led them to feel frightened, flawed and in need of/dependent on intervention (or someone else to save them). Our rates of birth trauma and postnatal depression are beyond crisis. It is challenging to be part of this birth culture right now when you believe strongly that women are powerful and that the majority have the innate ability to birth their babies with very little (if any) assistance.
It is all connected. We must rewild and actively seek to live by our own flow in order to break the cycle.
“SOMEWHERE, DEEP IN YOUR MEMORY YOU KNOW THE ANCIENT WAYS. THIS IS WHY YOU FIND YOURSELF DRAWN BY A DEEP SEEDED URGE. AN URGE SO POWERFUL THAT YOU DON’T EVEN QUESTION IT OR FIGHT IT. YOU LONG FOR IT.”
~UNKNOWN
ReWilding is a process of unraveling and unlearning. Unleashing ourselves from everything we are taught about how we ‘should‘ be. Our culture (and economy) is built on the foundation that every one of us is ‘faulty’ ‘flawed’ or ‘incomplete’… but especially if we are women! Only through buying into materialism, consumerism, pharmaceutical companies, hospital policies, debt, linear constructs of push push push… will we be fixed… but still not whole. It is a deep personal journey of reversing the unhealthy, rigid, unsustainable expectations and habits that go completely against our flow. Often leaving us feeling confused, lost, unmotivated & sad.
You are incredible and whole already.Â
“TO REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE, YOU NEED TO FORGET WHO THEY TOLD YOU TO BE”
ReWilding assists you to take the reigns. To redefine who you are, and who YOU want to be; starting right now. It is rooted in self love & flow. By connecting with yourself as one with nature (ie honouring your natural cycles and rhythms, and your place as a connected earthly being) as a place of power not shame, it allows you to tap into your true, wild, powerful, self sufficient, magic sense of self. You are able to not only acknowledge your own power, but harness & reclaim it.
“If you are not free to be who you are, you are not free.” ~ Clarissa Pinkola Estea
Rewilding is a process of truly believing that you are whole.
More than whole.
I see you wild woman….
~You have the strength and ability to birth your baby. It is already within you.
~You have the magic already inside you to to achieve your dreams!
~You possess a magical cyclic nature that you can tap into and harness to live a life in full flow!
~You can reclaim your rites of passage! These rites have until now been all but lost. Humans have previously always used them to assist in knowing our sense of belonging as a valued part of our tribe, and to pass down wisdom. This was before shame was profitable. Reclaim your rites!
~You are not alone in feeling lost, or ashamed of your true wild, fierce and magical self. You don’t have to hide anymore.
~You are wonderful. You are whole. You are magic. You are enough.

I believe that rewilding & self-nourishment are very much intertwined. However I feel very much called to follow this path as a ReWilding Mentor. To support women that are seeking a deeper dive into themselves, to reclaim their wild and their flow. As such you will see Nourished Collective less, and my work in supporting women in their ReWilding more.
I have kept the instagram and facebook handles @nourishedcollective for now, but my page names will both change to Katherine Eden ~ Rewilding Mentor in the new year.
I am excited about where this journey with much more clarity and current alignment will take me.
Is your soul-work calling you? Are you seeking clarity around how you can find flow in your life despite the linear expectations that surround us? Have you felt cracked open since having children and need to find a way to put the pieces back together in a way that is even more authentic and you? Are you looking to embrace your most wild and authentic version of you?
Grab your gumboots. Come journey & rewild with me!
Details about 1:1 Mentories opportunities will be released very soon. plus…
I have TWO MASSIVE announcements to make in the next week about ways we can journey together to unearth your own unique rhythm and flow.
Join my tribe to keep updated… they really are going to be something special.
If you’re already saying YES to the idea of journeying together, I would love to hear from you! You will feel if it is right. The knowing will be strong.
Thank you for supporting this transformation and I am so looking forward to announcing some very special offerings in the new year.
